Yes. If one can view JFK, RFK, MLK, and Nicole Brown Simpson's pictures then one should be able to see Osama. Nuff said!
1) I am mildly obsessed with Chopped too! I keep waiting for them to pull an old shoe out of the basket.
2) I would surely like some proof of Osama's death. I would not look at the pictures if they were to release them though. Not because of any political or respect issues but because I can't look at gun shot wounds to the head! But, they should release them so someone else can look for me. :-)
Yes, I believe the photos should be released. Photos of other men that were killed at the compound have been released, so why not release the one everyone wants to see? I watch a lot of true crime shows, so I have seen my fair share of bloody crime scenes. I don't think the Bin Laden pictures would be things we can't see.
I don't need proof he is dead, I believe he actually is; Al Queda has conceeded his death, I don't think they would do that if he were still alive. I think we need the pictures released to de-mythologicalize Bin Laden. Many people (non-American) see him as some great man who was above the law. Showing what can happen to you if you murder thousands of Americans will go a long way in detering future uprisings against us. I know many peoplesre concerned about reprucussions, but I truly believe the events will act as a deterent. There have been many plans for attacks that have been stopped by our military and intelligence teams before they went anywhere while Bin Laden was alive. Now, all his lackey's will be lost without a leader.
No. It's not neccessary, and they would be nothing but inflammatory.
Re photos: No. THEY do that sort of thing. WE don't.
No photos. I don't need to see them. Neither does anyone else. Photos of other casualties are available for viewing, and bin Laden's cronies are mourning his death and vowing revenge. That should be plenty enough proof for anyone.
To keep myself "real" I devote exactly 5 minutes to listening to The Rush L. program. Pure entertainment this week listening to him try to spin something out of that dog caca he calls a show. People seem to be trying harder these days to make sumtin out of nuttin.
Weekly question is moot since AlQaida confirmed the evil ones death.
Have a great weekend. I know I will :)
I would like some picture proof of his death.
Oh I adore Chopped. Especially when they give them things that make no sense together.
And no. I don't think they should. This isn't CSI. It's not a TV drama. It's real life. I don't want to see that.
No, don't release the photos. Why are so many people interested in corpse porn? Have the navy seals, the FBI, the CIA, the people on the navy ship, etc all been paid off to lie? Apparently, everyone in the government has seen the pictures. If even the Repuglicans are confirming it happened then how can there be a conspiracy?
I don't think releasing the photo of Osama will satisfy the skeptics; they'll claim doctoring. I certainly don't want to see it, myself. But, I understand that some people feel a visceral need to see it....but I still don't think it's a good idea. It's a good thing i'm not in charge of these sorts of decisions :P
I like John Sandford too! He's definitely one of my favorites.
I don't think we need to release photos. What's the point?
No, I don't feel any photos should be released. I made the mistake the other day of looking at the photos of the other dead from the compound that Pakistan apparently released.
They were brutal and violent. I wasn't prepared for how graphic those were. Given that they apparently shot his eye out and part of his skull, I feel it would be too extreme for the public and would inflame the extremists even more.
Dude, seriously. You believe anything the Daily Mail tells you? Don't forget this is the paper that has announced over fifty things that cause cancer. Including sunlight, lack of sunlight, red wine and tap water. Oh and wanking. And not wanking enough. And (probably) being gay or Muslim.
No on the photos, what are we turning into that we want to see them........Why? I am sure some people would like to be able to see the actual events on a loop on YOUTUBE, but I would hope that part of what separates us from them is that we don't parade bodies around the street and hold gleeful celebrations over blood shed. Not that I am saddened over his death by any means, but I am not going to drink in the streets and light off fireworks either. To each his own, but the desire to see mutilated bodies is something I question.
I can relate to that company...I often feel despair going to my current job everyday...especially when you feel trapped by a terrible economy.
Beer: I've been enjoying Shock Top's Raspberry Wheat. I've never cared for fruity beer but this is good stuff.
Re: bin Laden's body/conspiracy/et cetera... my bf is one who believes he was killed several years ago and that is why they can't show us a body now. I personally don't know, don't presume to know, and well, if we can stop making stupid excuses to stay and get all of our service people home now, I'd be a happy camper.
CanCool, great; this is my best reading an article Thank you!
